The San Francisco 49ers could be in the market for another safety. Although, general manager John Lynch sounded pretty confident this week that veteran Tashaun Gipson wouldn't retire. Still, he is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, so the player and team would need to come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.
According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, the 49ers are one of several teams that met with Florida State safety Jammie Robinson at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Melo also lists the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, and Detroit Lions as teams that spoke with the former Seminole.
"Robinson is a versatile defender with plenty of interest in his services," wrote Melo.
Robinson recorded 318 tackles, 15.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, seven interceptions, 16 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in four seasons with Florida State. He accrued a career-high and team-high 99 tackles in 13 starts in 2022, earning first-team All-ACC honors.
