The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 14 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Defensive end Nick Bosa missed his second consecutive practice. The talented pass rusher emerged from Sunday's game with some hamstring irritation. Bosa currently leads the league in sacks with 14.5 after turning in an impressive three-sack performance against the Miami Dolphins.

"Working his way back in. He's doing good," defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans said of Bosa after Thursday's practice. "I think he definitely is playing his best [football right now]. When you talk about someone, a guy who can change the game and affect the game the way Bosa does it, to me, he's hands down the best in the league.

"You talk about a Defensive Player of the Year candidate—if it isn't Bosa, I don't know who else it should be. He's put our defense in the position we're in. We're not where we are if not for Bosa, with how he changes the game, how he affects the quarterback, how he speeds up the quarterback's timing, and he's still able to get as many sacks as he has."

Defensive back Tarvarius Moore and defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway will miss time with injuries. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, Moore will miss "a few weeks" due to a knee sprain. The 49ers expect Ridgeway to miss about six to eight weeks after the defensive lineman suffered a pectoral strain.

Defensive lineman Arik Armstead, running back Christian McCaffrey, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel were limited for the second consecutive day.

Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Buccaneers, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture. Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel similarly took this action in 2022 before requesting to be traded just before the draft. Things have yet to escalate that far with Aiyuk, but Rapoport sees his
