According to multiple reports, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is "likely" to play this afternoon against the New Orleans Saints. Samuel has been limited in practice this week due to a hamstring injury, and the 49ers listed him as "questionable" for this afternoon's game.
#49ers WR Deebo Samuel, listed as questionable and dealing with a hamstring injury, is likely to play today, source said. He looked like himself on Friday.
On Friday, head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that Samuel's injury was unrelated to the hamstring injury that kept him out during Week 8's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
"We got back (from Mexico City) at like seven in the morning (on Tuesday)," Shanahan told reporters. "I'm sure he went home and slept for a while. It was a little weird day. He didn't feel it much on Tuesday. Got the information on Wednesday, and then we were safe about it."
Samuel has been less productive than expected this season, especially compared to his breakout 2021 campaign that included 1,770 all-purpose yards. The wideout has 670 all-purpose yards and four total touchdowns through nine games this season.
