The San Francisco 49ers are at The Greenbrier in West Virginia. They are preparing for their Week 6 contest against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

On Thursday, head coach Kyle Shanahan ruled out defensive linemen Arik Armstead and Javon Kinlaw for Sunday's game, so their statuses aren't a surprise. Neither has practiced this week, and Armstead did not make the trip to West Virginia with his teammates.

After missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday, defensive end Nick Bosa was on the field for Friday's lighter session. He has been ruled "questionable" for Sunday's game due to the groin injury he sustained on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

"He looked good, but everything's walk-through today too, so hopefully he would," Shanahan said of Bosa. "... You've got to be smart with all that stuff. It's not bad enough to say he's out but you've got to be careful, always, with whoever has that, and obviously, especially Nick."

The 49ers opened Jason Verrett's (ACL) practice window last week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that the cornerback would not be activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list before Sunday. Verrett practiced on Wednesday but was absent on Thursday and Friday.

"He just had some soreness," Shanahan said. "And once he had some soreness, we wanted to settle it down and make sure that it was just soreness and nothing worse. Hopefully, that will leave over the next couple of days, and we'll hit it up again on Wednesday next week."

The good news is that neither kicker Robbie Gould nor running back Ty Davis-Price are listed on the game status report, meaning both should be available on Sunday.

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Falcons, provided by the 49ers Communications staff. Also included are Friday's practice participation reports.

49ers vs. Giants Injury Report: Brandon Aiyuk questionable; Saquon Barkley ruled out

By David Bonilla
Sep 20

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 3 contest against the New York Giants on Thursday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Brandon Aiyuk will likely be a game-time decision. On Wednesday morning, general manager John Lynch shared that the wide receiver is working hard this week to play on Thursday. Aiyuk suffered a shoulder injury on a catch during the 49ers' opening drive on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. "I think, with Brandon, with these Thursday night games, they're a quick turnaround," Lynch said during a radio interview. "So he clearly got something irritated in his chest/shoulder area. He's working really hard to try to get ready.

Jason Verrett among several players worked out by 49ers

By David Bonilla
Sep 21

The San Francisco 49ers recently worked out a familiar face. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team took a look at cornerback Jason Verrett, who spent 2019 through 2022 with the Niners. However, multiple injuries limited his ability to contribute to the defense consistently. Wilson reports that San Francisco also worked out defensive backs Xavier Crawford, Michael Ojemudia, who was signed to the Los Angeles Rams practice squad, and Kendall Sheffield. #49ers worked out defensive backs Xavier Crawford, Michael

49ers' Kyle Shanahan: Javon Kinlaw's hard work showing up on the film

By David Bonilla
Sep 22

All offseason, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed confidence in fourth-year defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw despite the team not exercising the player's fifth-year option. It was certainly more confidence than fans had in the former first-round draft pick. Kinlaw had missed 24 games over the past two seasons. He underwent reconstructive knee surgery in 2021. A setback last season forced Kinlaw to miss 11 games. Fans were ready to label the defensive lineman a "bust." Some already had. The defensive lineman just could not stay on the football field. Kinlaw is finally healthy, though, and making his presence known. The defensive tackle is on pace for his best Pro Football Focus grade after an unimpressive first three NFL seasons.

49ers vs. Rams injury update: CB Ambry Thomas (knee) questionable to return

By Rohan Chakravarthi
Sep 17

The San Francisco 49ers were able to get out of Week 1 nearly injury-free, as cornerback Ambry Thomas was cleared of a concussion, which was the lone listed injury following the game for head coach Kyle Shanahan. Unfortunately, the first injury of the game for the 49ers in Week 2 has arrived, as cornerback Ambry Thomas is questionable to return with a knee injury. Thomas had started the game at outside cornerback, but was replaced by veteran Isaiah Oliver, who moved inside, placing Deommodore Lenoir on the outside to start the defense's second drive. Potential reason why the
