The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 5 contest against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Offensive lineman Colton McKivitz suffered an MCL sprain during Monday night's win over the Los Angeles Rams. He is expected to possibly miss six to eight weeks. He was filling in for left tackle Trent Williams, who remains out with a high-ankle sprain.

Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw missed Monday night's game due to a knee injury. He did not participate in practice. Last week, head coach Kyle Shanahan described the injury as a flare-up. Kinlaw underwent reconstructive surgery on his ACL last year.

Defensive lineman Arik Armstead is still dealing with the foot and ankle injury that kept him out of Week 3 and was reaggravated against the Rams. He did not practice.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings suffered an ankle sprain on Monday night. He was limited in practice.

Jauan Jennings: 49ers offense is "shaking and baking"

By David Bonilla
Sep 26

Usually, the San Francisco 49ers defense gets all the notoriety. However, with the Niners scoring 30 points per game, the offense is showing that it can be just as formidable. Jauan Jennings has four receptions for 82 yards, which ranks fourth on the team behind Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle. Jennings' 20.5 yards per reception lead the 49ers, and his 5.0 yards after the catch rank second among the team's wide receivers (Samuel, 7.9). Jennings was recently asked to share how much fun the offense has been having this season while possibly stealing some of the spotlight from the team's tough defense. "Now we out here shaking and baking, man," Jennings said via NBC Sports Bay Area. "That's what we do. We get in the end zone. I feel like

49ers' Kyle Shanahan: Javon Kinlaw's hard work showing up on the film

By David Bonilla
Sep 22

All offseason, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed confidence in fourth-year defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw despite the team not exercising the player's fifth-year option. It was certainly more confidence than fans had in the former first-round draft pick. Kinlaw had missed 24 games over the past two seasons. He underwent reconstructive knee surgery in 2021. A setback last season forced Kinlaw to miss 11 games. Fans were ready to label the defensive lineman a "bust." Some already had. The defensive lineman just could not stay on the football field. Kinlaw is finally healthy, though, and making his presence known. The defensive tackle is on pace for his best Pro Football Focus grade after an unimpressive first three NFL seasons.

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 3 contest against the New York Giants on Thursday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The team did not hold a full practice, instead opting to have players participate in two walkthroughs due to the short week. Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is still dealing with the shoulder injury sustained on his first catch against the Los Angeles Rams this past weekend. Cornerback Ambry Thomas is working through a knee injury. Both players were listed as limited participants on Tuesday. Will the receiver be a game-time decision? What does the 49ers head coach need to know before deciding whether Aiyuk plays against the Giants? "Just that the trainers and him himself tell me he can go," Kyle
