49ers-Seahawks Injury Report: George Kittle ‘healthier’ but questionable for Sunday; Daniel Brunskill ruled out

Sep 16, 2022 at 1:58 PM--

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 2 contest against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Today's biggest injury-related news is the return of tight end George Kittle to practice. He had missed the past five practices, including two this week, after suffering a groin strain on September 5. Kittle missed the 49ers' Week 1 matchup against the Chicago Bears. While he is officially listed as "questionable" for Sunday, his return to practice bodes well for his chances of a return.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said there is more optimism regarding Kittle's chances of playing compared to last week. The team will continue to evaluate the situation and his status will be a game-time decision.

"He's healthier seven days later than he was last week when he was questionable [to play in Week 1]," Shanahan said.

Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill has been ruled out for the second consecutive game. He is attempting to return from a hamstring injury suffered during the preseason.

Below are the official injury reports for the 49ers and Seahawks, provided by the 49ers Communications staff. Also included are Friday's practice participation reports.

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 4 contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Defensive linemen Arik Armstead and Javon Kinlaw returned to practice. Armstead has been dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, forcing him to miss the 49ers' Week 3 game against the Denver Broncos. Kinlaw played in that game but sat out the first two full practices of the week due to a knee injury. "Just flaring up on him," head coach Kyle Shanahan said of Kinlaw's knee. The defensive tackle underwent reconstructive surgery on his ACL last year. Is the coach concerned that the injury could hinder Kinlaw throughout the season? "Yeah, anytime someone has something, it's a concern,"

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 4 contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill is getting closer to returning to the football field. He returned to practice for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in the 49ers' first preseason game. That's good news for a unit that lost its best player, left tackle Trent Williams, for at least a month to a high-ankle sprain. Head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't have an update on Williams' injury. The 49ers don't believe he will require surgery, and the team hopes to avoid placing the offensive lineman on

Arik Armstead missed this past weekend's game against the Denver Broncos due to a foot injury that has bothered the defensive lineman since before Week 1. He told NBC Sports Bay Area that he has been dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. The injury got worse in the 49ers' Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks. "It is improving," head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters, noting that Armstead will not practice on Thursday. "He was real close to going [against the Broncos]. We thought he did real good in that workout before the game, but we held him back, and it's still the same today as it was on game day. Hopefully, it will be good by
