49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk pokes fun at Trey Lance ‘arm fatigue’ chatter

Jul 12, 2022 at 10:14 PM--

The topic of Trey Lance's "arm fatigue" has been circulating recently. While the reports on the San Francisco 49ers quarterback's issues with recovery originated from observations during last season, some have twisted the narrative, making it sound like the problem remains.

Some of Lance's teammates have a good sense of humor about the chatter. On Tuesday, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk posted an offseason video of himself catching three passes from the 49ers' second-year quarterback.

The caption jokingly reads: "The only three throws from the day, his arm got fatigued after that..."

It appears that Aiyuk has been keeping up with the offseason overreactions. Other teammates found it amusing.

"Caption on point," wrote fullback Kyle Juszczyk.

Tight end George Kittle responded with a couple of laughing emojis, followed by a round of applause. Then, tackle Trent Williams added three laughing emojis of his own.

It sounds like Lance's teammates don't think much of the reports, which reaffirms 49ers fans' belief that the whole storyline is being overblown.

H/t to Rohan Chakravarthi for the find.

Did 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan mismanage Trey Lance? Baldy weighs in

There has been much debate surrounding who is to blame for Trey Lance's season-ending ankle injury. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback rushed 16 times for 67 yards in his five quarters of play this season. Is that too much for an inexperienced quarterback who you are trying to develop into a better passer? The setback has postponed Lance's development for yet another season. Now, Jimmy Garoppolo is the starting quarterback moving forward. Many have placed the blame on head coach Kyle Shanahan's shoulders. After all, he is the play designer and play-caller. Lance's usage was totally up to him. What does respected NFL analyst Brian Baldinger think of how Shanahan utilized his 22-year-old quarterback during his abbreviated second NFL season? The

Trey Lance will likely head to injured reserve soon. On Monday, the quarterback underwent what most assumed to be season-ending surgery to repair the damage suffered when he broke his ankle against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. On a conference call with reporters this week, head coach Kyle Shanahan sounded pretty confident that Lance would be ready to go for Week 1 of the 2023 season. One expert isn't so sure the injury is season-ending, though. Foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Kenneth Jung, a consultant to the Los Angeles Rams, believes Lance could be fully healed within 10 to 12 weeks. Assuming the lengthier estimated recovery time, that might make him available after Week 14. However, the shorter estimate could mean Lance is healthy after Week

49ers' Jeff Wilson: Trey Lance was ready to prove critics wrong before injury

"We got your back," San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner told Trey Lance after the young quarterback was helped onto a cart following his ankle injury this past weekend. "I'll be back," Lance responded. This year was supposed to be an on-the-job learning season for Lance, who started just two games during his rookie 2021 campaign. Instead, this year's in-game development was cut short after less than five quarters of play. Jimmy Garoppolo takes over at quarterback, and the 49ers remain a competitive team thanks to the veteran's experience and the roster's talent level. Still, the loss of Lance stings. The 22-year-old is the future, and now his development has hit another

49ers mailbag: Is Shanahan on the hot seat? Did the coach not want to draft Trey Lance? How's the interior OL look? And other questions answered

The San Francisco 49ers won...and lost on Sunday. The win came by beating the Seattle Seahawks, something the 49ers have not done much of over the last 10 years. The loss came when Trey Lance broke his ankle. He's believed to be lost for the season. It's been a rough first two weeks for 49ers fans. First there was the frustrating loss in Chicago, and now the injury to Lance. And to make matters worse, running back Ty Davis-Price sustained a high-ankle sprain that could sideline him for a few weeks. As you well know, Elijah Mitchell will already miss about two months with an MCL sprain. Injuries are beginning to mount. But fortunately for you, I'm fully healthy and ready to share this week's 49ers mailbag with you. Let's get to it. How many QBs
