The San Francisco 49ers' lack of a first-round pick has fans depending on mock drafts that go deeper than one round to get a preview of what Kyle Shanahan's squad might do in April. NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter released a three-round mock draft, giving us a look at the team's first three possible selections.

Reuter has the 49ers double-dipping into the rookie cornerback pool with the first two picks. He has San Francisco selecting cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields of Penn State with the No. 61 overall pick. Many see cornerback as one of the team's biggest offseason needs. Emmanuel Moseley is a capable starter, and rookie Ambry Thomas came on strong toward the end of the season. Behind them, however, is a lot of uncertainty.

Castro-Fields played in 52 career games, making 30 starts at cornerback during his time with the Nittany Lions, recording 138 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three interceptions, 25 pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He started 12 games in 2021, making 32 tackles and breaking up six passes.

Moving on to the third round, Reuter has the 49ers using the No. 93 overall pick on cornerback Marcus Jones of Houston. He recorded 153 tackles, five tackles for a loss, nine interceptions, a touchdown, and 31 passes defensed with the Cougars and Troy Trojans. Five of his nine interceptions came as a senior in 2021.

Lastly, Reuter has San Francisco selecting defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia of UCLA with the No. 104 overall pick, a projected compensatory selection. Ogbonnia recorded 27 tackles, five tackles for a loss, and two sacks through 11 games as a senior with the Bruins in 2021.

Analyst Dane Brugler recently revealed his seven-round mock draft for The Athletic, forecasting all 257 selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, set to kick off next week. "Piecing together a mock like this is time consuming, but I enjoy the exercise, because it allows me to focus on each team's needs, organizational trends and prospect-team pairings that make sense based on '30' visits, league buzz and overall interest," Brugler wrote. Most expect the 49ers to address the trenches early in the draft, and Brugler has the team doing that. It's just not on the offensive side of the football. In fact, Brugler doesn't have San Francisco

Additionally, they acquired defensive tackle Maliek Collins via trade. Having focused primarily on the defensive side of the ball in free agency, the 49ers are widely anticipated to turn their attention to the offensive side in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. We're just 10 days away from the start of the 2024 NFL Draft. While many gain more confidence about their projections for the top of the first round, the picture of what might happen further down remains murky. Most predict the San Francisco 49ers will use their first selection, No. 31 overall, on an offensive lineman. However, an early run on the position may alter those plans. The 49ers may address another position, or they may have to move up to secure a top prospect. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and Field Yates recently revealed a joint three-round mock draft, examining the top 100 selections and forecasting

49ers add pass rusher in new 7-round mock draft

Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team revealed his latest mock draft, which goes seven rounds deep and projects every selection for every NFL team. While most predict that the San Francisco 49ers will add an offensive lineman with their first selection, No. 31 overall, Mosher has the Bay Area team going in a different direction. The writer and analyst has the Niners selecting former UCLA pass rusher Laiatu Latu in the first round. "It wouldn't be a shock to see Laiatu Latu fall in the draft due to his medical history, but he is too good of a value to pass up here at No. 31," Mosher wrote. "The San Francisco 49ers have been searching for the right pass
