The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their NFC Championship Game contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The 49ers activated wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (knee) off of injured reserve, and he was out on the practice field preparing for the Rams.

Cornerback Ambry Thomas was inactive against the Green Bay Packers due to a bone bruise in his knee. He practiced but was limited.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, dealing with shoulder and thumb injuries, was a full participant. In fact, head coach Kyle Shanahan noted that the shoulder injury no longer appeared on his injury list.

"I hear about the thumb more than the shoulder, so that's off the injury report now," Shanahan said before practice. "So I guess we're good."

Tackle Trent Williams sustained an ankle injury against the Packers, leaving his status for Sunday unclear. The All-Pro offensive lineman didn't practice but isn't being ruled out.

"In Trent's mind, there's no way he's not playing," Shanahan said. "That's why he was so crushed last game (Week 18) because he believed he would, and his body wouldn't let him. So hopefully, we'll have some better luck this game. But I know he believes he's playing, and so do I. So, we'll see how that pans out as the week goes. If he can, he will."

Neither wide receiver Deebo Samuel nor tight end George Kittle appeared on the injury report, which means both were full participants in practice.

Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

If the 49ers draft a wide receiver, don't expect it to be a smaller guy

By Marc Adams
Apr 13

The San Francisco 49ers are in good shape for 2024 when it comes to the wide receiver position. What that room looks like after this coming season remains to be seen. Most believe the 49ers will give Brandon Aiyuk a new contract around the start of training camp. But there are no guarantees. As it was reported on Friday, Aiyuk unfollowed the 49ers on Instagram, much like Deebo Samuel did two years ago. It seems to be how modern-day players negotiate. It's not necessarily anything to be concerned about, but you never truly know how these things will end. There is still potential that the 49ers could trade the star receiver in the next couple of weeks. If Aiyuk is extended, it

Trent Taylor snatches up 49ers star receiver's old number

By David Bonilla
Apr 19

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel will be wearing No. 1 the next time he steps onto the football field, leaving behind his No. 19 jersey. It's an unfortunate change for any fan who previously invested in a Deebo jersey—unless they consider it a throwback. Newly signed wide receiver Trent Taylor quickly claimed No. 19 after rejoining the team on a one-year deal following three seasons elsewhere. Taylor last wore No. 15 with the 49ers, a number currently worn by wide receiver Jauan Jennings. Taylor also wore No. 81 with the team. The 49ers' official team site has listed the jersey numbers for several of the team's free-agent newcomers (and Maliek Collins, acquired via a

Brandon Aiyuk's agent denies report of Steelers 'aggressively pursuing' the 49ers receiver

By David Bonilla
Apr 18

On Wednesday, Chat Sports contributor Chase Senior reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were "aggressively pursuing" San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. He further stated that the Steelers are confident they can finalize a deal for the star player. REPORTS: The Pittsburgh Steelers are aggressively pursuing a Brandon Aiyuk trade and the Steelers would be "surprised" if they don't land Aiyuk. Of note: Pittsburgh has the 20th overall pick. The Niners could look at that as equal value for Aiyuk if they can't get a deal done.…
