49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo’s best plays against the Falcons in Week 15

The 49ers won with ease, 31-13, against the Atlanta Falcons last weekend to strengthen their hold on the NFC's 6th seed, and it will stay that way after the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday to improve to 10-4 as the 5th seed.

It was an all-around performance by a team missing two key players in RB Elijah Mitchell and LB Azeez Al-Shaair. The offense established an efficient passing game to complement their strong rushing attack, while the defense continuously got to Matt Ryan, accumulating 23 pressures for the game.

After a semi-shaky start against the Bengals in Week 14, where he wasn't too effective before playing lights out on San Francisco's last two drives, Jimmy Garoppolo had an extremely efficient, and in my eyes, underrated performance Sunday, as he was perhaps the most accurate he has been all season.

Watching the film again, here are Garoppolo's most impressive throws from the weekend.

49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo toughs it out to win OT thriller against the Rams

By Chris Beno

The San Francisco 49ers' decision to play quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on Sunday against the rival Los Angeles Rams was heavily scrutinized from the start. And rightfully so. Garoppolo suffered a torn ligament in the thumb of his throwing hand during the Week 16 game against the Tennessee Titans. That injury will require surgery this offseason. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan felt confident with putting Garoppolo out there Sunday in a must-win matchup to make the playoffs. The uncertainty of that decision left many fans on edge leading up to and during the game at SoFi Stadium. When the 49ers fell behind by 17 points in the first half of the game, it appeared that head coach Kyle Shanahan's decision was going to be the nail in the coffin for their season, as

After the San Francisco 49ers' 23-7 victory over the Houston Texans, head coach Kyle Shanahan hinted that fans might see rookie quarterback Trey Lance make his third NFL start. Next weekend will be an all-important Week 18 playoff-implicating matchup against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams. "I'm just glad we took care of business," Shanahan said. "So we've got our second playoff game next week." Shanahan, of course, is referring to the 49ers' must-win matchups in these final two weeks of the regular season, looking at both as playoff games for his squad. The team could not afford to lose either. So who will be the quarterback in that next playoff game on January 9th? After all, Lance did just earn his first career NFL win. "I mean,

49ers players say Jimmy Garoppolo looks 'real good' and has improved since last week

Jimmy Garoppolo's playing status against the Los Angeles Rams this week probably won't be known until gameday, but it sounds like he's been making visible strides in practice, based on what his teammates said Thursday. Garoppolo sat out last week's win over the Houston Texans in favor of rookie Trey Lance due to a thumb injury that may or may not require surgery in the offseason, but he's been back at practice this week as the 49ers prepare for their season finale in Los Angeles (4:25 p.m. ET/1:25 p.m. PT, FOX). He was naturally a popular topic of conversation during post-practice media sessions on Thursday, with reporters wanting to know the players'
