The San Francisco 49ers aren't too concerned about the injuries that wide receiver Deebo Samuel and linebacker Fred Warner sustained during Sunday's 34-26 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Samuel exited the game due to a groin injury. A hamstring injury sidelined Warner.
On Monday morning, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Samuel's setback is "not considered a major injury," but that the team's leading receiver is expected to "miss a little time." That more than likely rules Samuel out for Sunday's Week 13 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler provided an update on both players, who received MRIs on Monday morning. The reporter states that the injuries are considered "short-term" setbacks, and there is "no major concern for now." Although, he added that there is still testing taking place.
49ers still consider injuries to stars Deebo Samuel (groin) and Fred Warner (hamstring) short-term, per source. Still testing to finish but no major concern for now.
We may learn more later. Head coach Kyle Shanahan is scheduled to speak with reporters via a conference call on Monday at 3:30 p.m. PT.
"I don't think it's as bad as you worry," Shanahan said of Samuel's injury after Sunday's game. "We're hoping it's a little strain, and he feels that it might be."
