The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 3 contest against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Running back
Elijah Mitchell did not practice after leaving — and later returning — to Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Head coach Kyle Shanahan admitted today that the injury was a bit worse than what he hoped but hasn't ruled the rookie out for this weekend's game.
"A little worse than a stinger," Shanahan said, "so that's why he can't go today. He's got a chance at Sunday."
The team's other rookie running back, Trey Sermon, practiced with a blue no-contact jersey on. He remains in the concussion protocol after suffering a blow to the head on his first NFL carry.
"He's on a good path," Shanahan said.
Defensive lineman
Kevin Givens and running back JaMycal Hasty are headed to injured reserve and are expected to be out a while.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Packers, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

Aiyuk and the 49ers are currently negotiating a contract extension, aiming to finalize a new deal. Of course, that hasn't prevented significant media speculation surrounding Aiyuk's future, with many wondering if the delay might hint at a potential trade.
