Cornerback Dontae Johnson has re-signed with the 49ers. The team is sparse on secondary depth right now and this is a move to address that.
San Francisco made Johnson a fourth-round selection out of NC State in 2014. He registered 23 tackles, a sack, and three passes defensed through 14 games with the 49ers in 2020.
Johnson, 29, has recorded 184 tackles, five tackles for a loss, seven quarterback hits, a sack, 24 passes defensed, two interceptions, and two touchdowns through his seven NFL seasons. He spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Chargers between his two stints with the 49ers.
