NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo reported this morning that the San Francisco 49ers have made a big push to re-sign offensive tackle Trent Williams, who is expected to test free agency. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported the same thing but added a little tidbit about another 49er impending free agent as the negotiating window approaches.

"And then Jason Verrett, one of the coolest stories in the NFL, spent most of his career injured, and then last year, was a full-time starter, played incredibly well," said Rapoport. "An offer on the table from the 49ers. He has not taken it yet, and as we get closer to 12 o'clock (Eastern), it obviously makes it more likely that a player will test the market. We will see if he ends up going back to San Fran."

Verrett was completely healthy last season for the first time since his 2015 campaign that resulted in a Pro Bowl selection. The cornerback landed on injured reserve during five of his first six NFL seasons.

The 49ers did lock up one of their other high-priority impending free agents over the weekend, re-signing fullback Kyle Juszczyk to a five-year deal worth a reported $27 million.
