Pro Football Focus gives 49ers QB Mac Jones in 2021 redraft

By Kirk Larrabee

Remember Mac Jones? Jones is hard to forget for any 49ers fans who followed the buildup to the 2021 NFL Draft. There was an air of mystery surrounding what the 49ers would do once they acquired the third overall pick from the Miami Dolphins, with plenty of speculation over whether or not Jones would be the player they chose after making that trade. But while Jones was coming off a breakout season in leading the University of Alabama to a national championship, many fans weren't enthused with the thought of the 49ers drafting him due in part to the belief he didn't have as high of a ceiling as Justin Fields of Ohio State or Trey Lance of North Dakota State. The 49ers apparently felt the same, selecting Lance at pick 3 while Jones fell to the New England Patriots

Much has happened in terms of player movement since Super Bowl LVI, which has shuffled PFF's rankings to look quite a bit different than they might have at the end of last year. The 49ers are the lowest-rated of last season's final four playoff teams,

A trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio is always a worthwhile endeavor for San Francisco 49ers fans, due in large part to how well the team is represented in the museum. Among the magnificent collection of football history on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame are artifacts from a number of 49ers players of yesteryear, as well as a few appearances from players currently on the roster. This year is as good of a year as any for 49ers fans to visit, as one of the team's greatest defensive players, defensive lineman Bryant Young, will become enshrined in the Hall along with seven others when induction ceremonies take place on August 6. So, in addition to the 49ers artifacts permanently on display in the Hall of Fame's collection, Young is separately

Five 49ers players who could be candidates for their first Pro Bowl selection in 2022

The days surrounding July 4th are more often than not one of the slowest times of the year for NFL content, which makes it an opportune time to shamelessly borrow another site's good idea. With that in mind, let's build off a feature that was published earlier today by NFL.com that selected one player from each team that could be in line for their first Pro Bowl appearance in 2022. Feature writer Nick Shook selected running back Elijah Mitchell for the 49ers, pointing at the unexpected level of success Mitchell had in his first NFL season after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. "The 49ers enjoyed quality
