Deshaun Watson is not a happy quarterback. That is no secret and, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, teams are reaching out to the Houston Texans to find out if the star player might become available.

While Rapoport doesn't specifically mention the San Francisco 49ers, oddsmakers have given the Bay Area squad the third-best chance to have Watson on its roster at the start of the 2021 season. Of course, the Texans remain the favorite to have Watson for Week 1.

Watson is not happy after the Texans asked for his involvement in the team's search for a new general manager and head coach. Then, members of the team's brass ignored the quarterback's suggestions and are now trying to find a way to mend the relationship with their disgruntled player.

"As these rumors have percolated, as more and more people have talked about what is going to happen with Deshaun Watson, teams have started calling, as you would expect, saying, 'Hey, is this guy actually available?'" Rapoport said on NFL Network's Good Morning Football. "'Could we actually trade for Deshaun Watson?'

"Now, a couple of things I want to say that are important. First of all, the owner, Cal McNair, and no one inside the Texans organization has actually said they would trade Deshaun Watson. He has also not asked for a trade. However, that has not stopped teams from calling, and it hasn't stopped people from speculating."

Rapoport mentioned the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins as potential trade partners for the Texans, should the team eventually look to move on from Watson. He also suggests keeping an eye on the Carolina Panthers as a potential destination.

Rapoport: 49ers send clear message to teams inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture. Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel similarly took this action in 2022 before requesting to be traded just before the draft. Things have yet to escalate that far with Aiyuk, but Rapoport sees his

A questionable rumor surfaced on Wednesday regarding the Pittsburgh Steelers' interest in San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Sports Illustrated contributor Noah Strackbein reported that the AFC team was seemingly confident they could pull off a trade for Aiyuk. Why one analyst is worried for Brock Purdy if 49ers trade Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
18 hrs

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy achieved a remarkable feat in 2023, setting a single-season franchise record with 4,280 passing yards. This accomplishment is noteworthy, considering the illustrious quarterbacks who have graced the organization's history. A significant portion of those yards came from wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who amassed a career-high and team-leading 1,342 receiving yards. Most of his 75 catches originated from passes thrown by Purdy. Amidst significant offseason chatter surrounding the 49ers' star receiver, including several unsubstantiated trade rumors, Aiyuk's future remains uncertain. Former NFL player James Jones, now an analyst, expressed concern for Purdy should Aiyuk's tenure in the Bay Area come to an end. "I
