This week, the Dallas Cowboys came to an agreement to add Dan Quinn as the team's defensive coordinator. Some wondered if San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan might pursue his former boss in Atlanta for defensive coordinator, should Robert Saleh be hired as a head coach.
You can also cross Gus Bradley off the list of potential replacements for Saleh. Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Raiders are hiring Bradley as their defensive coordinator.
The @Raiders have hired Gus Bradley as new defensive coordinator
Saleh and Bradley worked together with the Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars. Bradley spent the last four seasons as the Los Angeles Chargers' defensive coordinator.
San Francisco expressed interest in Bradley becoming its defensive coordinator in 2017. The decision eventually came down to the Chargers and 49ers, and Bradley chose the former.
The 49ers could look internally at someone like linebackers coach DeMeco Ryans, who is well-respected by those within the organization, to replace Saleh.
"We've got a lot of other good guys on our staff, and I know there will be a number of options," head coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier this month. "... So, I expect whatever we end up deciding here, and obviously, we'll wait to see what happens with Saleh, but I know the Niners will be alright."
