The San Francisco 49ers have announced that veteran safety Johnathan Cyprien has been waived. He has been on injured reserve since November 17 due to a hamstring injury.
San Francisco signed Cyprien on August 20. He didn't make the 53-man roster but was added to the practice squad on
September 6. Cyprien was promoted to the active roster on November 9 after being flexed from the practice squad during three previous weeks. He appeared in four games this season, recording two tackles and a forced fumble.
The team has also released defensive lineman Willie Henry Jr. from the practice squad.
