49ers-Cardinals Injury Report: Brandon Aiyuk practices; Deebo Samuel and Jason Verrett don’t

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 1 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was the latest notable 49ers player to return to the practice field. Although, he was limited. The rookie has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury on August 23.


Center Ben Garland continues to be limited during practice.

For the second consecutive day, wide receiver Deebo Samuel and cornerback Jason Verrett did not practice. San Francisco has one full practice — a Friday session around noon — remaining before Sunday's game.

Side note: Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo wore his knee brace during practice.

Jason Verrett praises 49ers for how his injury was handled last season

Cornerback Jason Verrett spoke with reporters via Zoom on Thursday and discussed the phenomenal year he is having with the San Francisco 49ers. The cornerback has spent more time on injured reserve during his seven NFL seasons than he has played. Verrett is showing the NFL what he is capable of now that he is healthy.
