NFL teams are allowed to sign players to their practice squads starting Sunday at 10 a.m. PT. This is following the 9 a.m. PT deadline to claim a player off of waivers.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL is allowing each team to carry up to six players with an unlimited amount of NFL experience.

Each week during the regular season, teams can protect up to four practice squad players, preventing other teams from signing them to an active roster. The remaining practice squad players can be claimed by any NFL team but must be placed on that team's active 53-player roster.

Teams can elevate a practice squad player to the active roster up to 90 minutes before kickoff.

Below is a list of players who the 49ers are reportedly signing to their initial 16-player practice squad for the upcoming season.

CB Tim Harris
Per The Athletic
The 49ers made Harris a sixth-round draft pick out of Virginia in 2019.

RB JaMycal Hasty
Per The Athletic
The 49ers signed Hasty as an undrafted free agent this offseason.

FB Josh Hokit
Per The Athletic
The 49ers signed Hokit as an undrafted free agent this offseason.

CB Dontae Johnson

49ers 2021 Pre-Draft Visit/Meeting Tracker

By Site Staff
Apr 6, 2021

This list will grow as the 2021 NFL Draft quickly approaches. The San Francisco 49ers have been meeting with potential draft selections, both virtually and in-person, since January. NFL teams are permitted to physically host only a limited number of prospects, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A vast majority of the interviews will be conducted virtually. NFL teams will not hold local pro days due to the pandemic. Below is a breakdown of the known meetings between draft prospects and 49ers representatives, as reported by various media sources. The representatives could be members of the coaching staff, front office, and/or team scouts. The 49ers' draft picks and scheduled interviews are listed first. Dates (if known) of the meeting or workout are listed

Round Table: Who do the 49ers draft at No. 3 with Lawrence, Wilson off the board?

Last week, the San Francisco 49ers shocked the NFL world by trading up to the No. 3 spot in this month's draft. There is an overwhelming belief that Trevor Lawrence of Clemson and Zach Wilson of BYU will both be off the board by the time general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan are on the clock. If that is how things play out, what will be their move? We asked the 49ers Webzone staff to predict who the Niners will select at No. 3 overall, should Lawrence and Wilson be unavailable. Below are the responses in the order in which they were received. Justin Wong Justin Fields, Ohio State For the 49ers to aggressively trade top draft capital and move into the No. 3 spot likely means they have one quarterback

My case for the 49ers to draft Justin Fields

Apr 5, 2021

When the San Francisco 49ers were drafting at No. 12, there was a lot of speculation about which quarterback might fall and who that might be. The only quarterback who seemed to have a chance to fall to twelve was Mac Jones. However, the 49ers aren't selecting at twelve anymore because they took a huge swing and traded three first rounds picks to move up to pick at No. 3. This means there will likely be three of the consensus top-five quarterback prospects still on the board. This is my case for Justin Fields. Fields is a unique specimen at the quarterback position. Everyone on Twitter wants to pigeonhole Fields into a "type" of quarterback and what he could become in Shanahan's offense. Some say he's a runner who can also throw. Others say he's a slow

Mock Draft Roundup: The Mac Jones-to-49ers Chatter is Deafening

By Justin Wong
Apr 7, 2021

The 2021 NFL Draft is a three-day event from April 29th to May 1st that will be hosted in Cleveland, Ohio. A select number of draft prospects will be invited to Cleveland to walk across the stage and shake hands with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The NFL Draft will also feature draft prospects participating remotely across the country. Last month, the 49ers arguably made their most aggressive move since trading Joe Montana, as they gave up multiple picks to jump from No. 12 to No. 3 in this year's NFL Draft. The first Mock Draft Roundup featured primarily defensive players but NFL pundits have now shifted their 49ers mock drafts to the quarterback position.
