Congratulations! 49ers’ Trent Taylor gets engaged over the weekend

Jun 22, 2020 at 4:21 PM--

While San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Arik Armstead was getting married over the weekend, Trent Taylor was asking his girlfriend if she'd like to do the same. The 49ers receiver proposed to Sarah Chaffee, and she said yes, according to her Twitter account.

Chaffee posted some photos from the proposal, and it looks like some 49ers teammates were there to show their support.

Congratulations to the happy couple.

On a side note, we're assuming this maybe means that players like Taylor, quarterback C.J. Beathard, and tight end George Kittle tested negative for COVID-19.

A group of 16 players took part in player-organized throwing sessions in the Nashville, Tennessee area this past week. The 49ers confirmed that one participating player tested positive for the virus, leading to the others being tested. The team did not reveal the identity of the infected player.

Matt Barrows of The Athletic reported this morning that some of those results had come back negative.

#PayGeorgeKittle The hashtag has taken on a life of its own on social media. San Francisco 49ers fans want to see their favorite team finally lock up popular All-Pro tight end George Kittle to a long-term contract. Agreeing on an extension remains a priority to the 49ers, even as the team shifts its focus toward training camp. Although, recent reports state that the two sides aren't "particularly close" on finalizing anything. Kittle reported to the 49ers' Santa Clara facility on Tuesday, though, for his first of two COVID-19 tests. The second will occur today. Should both come back negative, he will be allowed into the building as early as this

Pro Football Focus ranks Trent Williams No. 8 among offensive tackles

By David Bonilla
Aug 3, 2020

Pro Football Focus ranked the top 25 offensive tackles in the NFL. For the San Francisco 49ers, the starters anchoring the offensive line are veteran Trent Williams, who replaces the retired Joe Staley after a trade from Washington, and third-year player and a former No. 9 overall draft pick, Mike McGlinchey. Only one of those two ended up on the ranking — Williams, who came in at No. 8. "In the wake of Joe Staley's retirement, the 49ers swooped in and replaced him with another top-10 tackle in Williams," wrote Anthony Treash of Pro Football Focus. "He didn't play a snap for Washington last year, but he was the model of excellence as a pass-blocker in

Trent Williams says Nick Bosa will be 'pivotal tool' in knocking off rust

By David Bonilla
Aug 6, 2020

Offensive tackle Trent Williams hasn't played an NFL snap since 2018. He finds himself returning to the game with a new team after a trade sent him from Washington to the San Francisco 49ers. Williams has stayed in shape, though, and identified one tool available to him in his preparation for the 2020 season — new teammate Nick Bosa. Williams considers the reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year to be one of the game's best pass rushers and can't wait to go against him in practices. "He's going to be a pivotal tool for me to use to knock the rust off," Williams told reporters on Thursday via a video conference call. "Probably one of the biggest challenges that I can face all year is Nick. I think he's one of the top four or five rushers in
