49ers believed to be interested in Trent Williams, per report
Could the San Francisco 49ers have another trade up their sleeves on the second day of the 2020 NFL Draft?
Julie Donaldson of NBC Sports Washington is reporting possible movement from the Washington Redskins.
As noted, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was with Washington when tackle Trent Williams was drafted in 2010. There were
other reports that the Minnesota Vikings are also in conversation with Washington for Williams.
Williams, 31, is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection. Washington made him the No. 4 overall selection in 2010 after playing college football at Oklahoma. Williams has 120 game appearances and 119 starts through his nine NFL seasons.

49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo hoping for a 'quick resolution' once healthy, per report
There has been some chatter that the San Francisco 49ers might be willing to hold onto Jimmy Garoppolo if they can't find a trade partner for the veteran quarterback or if an interested team tries to lowball the Niners. San Francisco had hoped to trade Garoppolo in March. The quarterback undergoing shoulder surgery halted all trade talks. Then the number of quarterback-needy teams greatly diminished.
49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan have repeatedly indicated that they expect Garoppolo to be healthy enough to throw again by early July. We're almost to that point.
On Saturday, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Garoppolo's

The positive reports surrounding the No. 3 overall pick in last year's NFL Draft keep pouring out from Santa Clara. There was a lot of chatter about the San Francisco 49ers having doubts about second-year quarterback Trey Lance as he prepares to become the team's full-time starter. That chatter lessened once the offseason program kicked off, and reporters got closer looks at the quarterback's progress.
A new report from NBC Sports Bay Area states that Lance's throws this offseason look much improved compared to last season.
"Sources close to the quarterback have shared with NBC Sports Bay Area that now, with a fully recovered
Bleacher Report: 49ers probably regret not extending Deebo Samuel earlier
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently listed one offseason regret for each NFL team (h/t Niners Noise). That regret for the Kansas City Chiefs was letting Charvarius Ward depart. In March, the cornerback signed a three-year, $40.5 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers, forcing the Chiefs to use a first-round pick on Trent McDuffie.
What about the regret for the 49ers, though? Is it the complicated situation with Jimmy Garoppolo, the veteran quarterback they would love to trade but can't? Is it not directly shooting
