The Pro Football Hall of Fame wait continues for former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Bryant Young. To the disappointment of many fans, he was not selected for the Class of 2020, according to multiple reports. This was Young's first time as a finalist after eight years of eligibility.

Young, who retired in 2007, is the 49ers' franchise leader in career sacks with 89.5. He racked up 627 tackles, 20 passes defensed, 12 forced fumbles, and seven fumble recoveries during his 14-year career, according to Pro Football Reference.

San Francisco made Young the No. 7 overall draft pick out of Notre Dame in 1994, and he spent all 14 of his NFL seasons (1994-2007) with the team. Young helped the team win Super Bowl XXIX during his rookie campaign, is a four-time Pro Bowl selection, and was named first-team All-Pro in 1996.

Young was named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team, and the 1999 AP Comeback Player of the Year after returning from a broken leg that ended his previous season. His teammates voted him the winner of the Len Eshmont Award a remarkable eight times. No other player has earned the honor more than twice.

It was announced earlier today that at least one former 49ers player, Isaac Bruce, would be inducted with the Class of 2020. While he spent his last two NFL seasons in San Francisco, he is best known for his long career with the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams.

It was reported earlier today that 49ers general manager John Lynch also failed to make the final cut. Before his time as an executive and broadcaster, he spent 15 seasons as an NFL safety. This was Lynch's seventh year as a finalist. His 49ers will play in Super Bowl LIV tomorrow where they will face the Kansas City Chiefs.
