At least one former San Francisco 49ers player made it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2020. Wide receiver Isaac Bruce, best known for his time with the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams, is among the five modern-era players announced to this year's class.

Bruce, who played in the NFL for 16 seasons, was a second-round draft pick by the Rams in 1994. While the majority of his career was spent with the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams, he signed a two-year deal with the 49ers in 2008 before retiring in 2010.

During his two seasons in San Francisco, Bruce registered 82 receptions for 1,099 yards and seven touchdowns in 26 game appearances and 22 starts.

The four-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl XXXIV champion registered 1,024 career receptions for 15,208 yards and 91 touchdowns. Bruce's number 80 jersey is retired by the Rams. He ranks 13th all-time in receptions and is fifth all-time in receiving yards. Bruce also ranks 12th in all-time receiving touchdowns.

It was reported earlier today that the wait continues for 49ers general manager John Lynch, who, before his time as an executive and broadcaster, spent 15 seasons as an NFL safety. This was his seventh year as a finalist.

Lynch probably has other things on his mind today, though. His 49ers are preparing to play in Super Bowl LIV tomorrow. They will face the Kansas City Chiefs.

As of this post, there has been no word on the status of former 49ers defensive tackle Bryant Young, who is also a finalist.

Update: Young was not selected to the Class of 2020.
