The Minnesota Vikings will head into Saturday's Divisional Round playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers a bit shorthanded at defensive back. The team will be without safety Jayron Kearse when it takes the field at Levi's Stadium.
Kearse was listed as "doubtful" on Thursday's injury report and was downgraded on Friday. The team is already without cornerback Mackensie Alexander, who underwent arthroscopic surgery this week for the small tear in his lateral meniscus. He was placed on injured reserve on Friday.
Vikings safety Jayron Kearse has been downgraded to OUT for the 49ers game. Cornerback Mackensie Alexander was placed on IR after having knee surgery on Thursday. The team promoted CB Nate Meadors off the practice squad. https://t.co/3YF2S9MHNv
Kearse is in his fourth NFL season. He registered 28 tackles, six passes defensed, and an interception through 15 games and three starts this season.
