The San Francisco 49ers have announced the signing of cornerback Chris Campbell to a one-year deal. The team waived offensive lineman Dillon Day in a corresponding move.
The Arizona Cardinals made Campbell a sixth-round selection out of Penn State last year, and waived him on September 1, 2018. The New Orleans Saints signed Campbell on October 16, 2018 and signed him to a reserve/future contract on January 21.
The Saints waived the 23-year-old Campbell on August 22.
The 49ers signed Day as a free agent on July 26. He entered the NFL with the Denver Broncos after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State in 2015. Day has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers.
