Mike McGlinchey mic’d up during practice and Joe Staley’s daughter says the Seahawks are ‘toots’

Jul 28, 2019 at 8:01 AM--

49ers Studios, the San Francisco 49ers' in-house production studio, quickly pushed out a mic'd up video from Saturday's practice, the first of training camp. It features second-year tackle Mike McGlinchey welcoming his quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, back to the offensive huddle, and on-field hair discussion with tight end George Kittle.

Maybe the best line from the video was guard Mike Person saying, "Mike has a mic, talking to Mike, and Mike is telling about Mike's mic."

"It's Inception," responds McGlinchey.

Tackle Joe Staley, who is entering season number 13 with the 49ers, had his daughters on hand to watch practice. Here is a photo of the three of them observing from a sideline.

As if that wasn't precious enough, Staley showed Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee this homemade sign his five-year-old daughter, Grace, made. It gives props to her father's team, not so much to their Bay Area (for now) rival, and bashes the division rival Seattle Seahawks.

No word on where the disdain for the Denver Broncos comes from. Maybe don't tell general manager John Lynch about that. Or head coach Kyle Shanahan, whose father, Mike, was on hand for practice.

By Al Sacco
Apr 16

With the 2024 NFL Draft less than a week away, it's common for the rumor mill to start churning, especially with players who are actively seeking a new contract. It was just two short years ago that WR Deebo Samuel requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers prior to draft day, only for cooler heads to prevail and eventually agree to a new deal. Now, it's WR Brandon Aiyuk's turn to try and get paid and rumors surfaced over the weekend that he too would request to be dealt. While that report was quickly shot down by his agent, there's still a lot of discussion about Aiyuk's future and if other teams will come calling on draft night. Breaking down the 49ers drafts under John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan

By Marc Adams
Apr 20

We are less than one week away from the NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers have their first day-one draft pick since 2021. That was the year they selected QB Trey Lance number three overall. The trade-up to get Lance cost the 49ers their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023. And now that they are back in the first round, at pick 31, fans are anxious to see what the team does with the pick. And with former assistant GM, Adam Peters, now in Washington, it will be interesting to see how well the 49ers draft without Peters in the room. We looked back at the seven drafts GM John Lynch and Head Coach Kyle Shanahan have led to see what information we could pull from those drafts. There were plenty of hits, plenty of misses, and a few surprises along the way. The draft picks are

49ers address both sides of the ball in Kiper and Yates 3-round mock draft

By David Bonilla
Apr 15

We're just 10 days away from the start of the 2024 NFL Draft. While many gain more confidence about their projections for the top of the first round, the picture of what might happen further down remains murky. Most predict the San Francisco 49ers will use their first selection, No. 31 overall, on an offensive lineman. However, an early run on the position may alter those plans. The 49ers may address another position, or they may have to move up to secure a top prospect. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and Field Yates recently revealed a joint three-round mock draft, examining the top 100 selections and forecasting
