Tom Pelissero of NFL Network initially indicated that the San Francisco 49ers are hosting Central Michigan cornerback Xavier Crawford on Wednesday.

Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area clarifies by reporting that Crawford is from Pittsburg, California, and therefore is considered a local product. Maiocco believes Crawford will be participating in the 49ers local pro day on Wednesday and will not count against the team's 30-player pre-draft visit limit.

We'll know for sure when the 49ers send out the official roster for Wednesday's local pro day, which is expected shortly.

NFL teams are allowed to host an unlimited number of local prospects who played for schools in their designated area or prospects who played elsewhere but are from the area.

Crawford recorded 24 combined tackles, three for a loss, an interception, 12 passes defensed, and two fumble recoveries through 11 starts as a junior in 2018, his first season with the Chippewas after transferring from Oregon State. He was named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team defense this past season.

Crawford registered 70 combined tackles, two for a loss, a sack, an interception, 10 passes defensed, and a forced fumble while with Oregon in 2016.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 5-foot-11 and 187-pound Crawford had a 40-time of 4.48 seconds, a vertical jump of 37.5 inches, and 11 reps in the bench press. Other measurables for Crawford include an arm length of 29 1/8 inches and hands that measure 9 inches.

NFL.com projects Crawford to be a fifth- or sixth-round draft pick.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, who compares Crawford to Greg Stroman, wrote the following about Crawford within his scouting report:

"Long, thin press corner with the agility, foot quickness and balance to allow for stickier coverage. Crawford's average speed and slim frame could make him a target downfield. His ability to hound routes underneath is impressive, but he doesn't have the size or demeanor for frequent run support. Crawford's athleticism and ability to stay connected to routes gives him a shot as a backup cornerback either outside or from the slot."

Tony Pauline of Draft Analyst wrote the following about Crawford within his scouting report:

"Crawford possesses next-level size and speed and has flashed ball skills. Best with the action in front of him, he would be a terrific dime back in zone coverage and comes with return potential."

What a pathetic performance by the San Francisco 49ers. The offense was horrid and the defense, even though they played well for three quarters, couldn't hold off the Los Angeles Rams in the final quarter, as the 49ers lost 12-6. The loss didn't mathematically eliminate the...
