Houston linebacker Emeke Egbule is scheduled to meet with the San Francisco 49ers, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Egbule will also meet with or have a private work out for the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, and New Orleans Saints. Wilson doesn't specify whether the linebacker's time with the 49ers will be a meeting or a workout.

Wilson reports that Egbule had a 4.40 short shuttle, a 7.09 three-cone drill, and an 11.89 60-yard shuttle during Houston's pro day on Thursday.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-2 and 245-pound Egbule had a 40-time of 4.65 seconds, a vertical jump of 33 inches, a broad jump of 119 inches, completed the three-cone drill in 7.38 seconds, 20 reps in the bench press, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.38 seconds. Other measurables for Egbule include an arm length of 33 inches and hands that measure 9 1/4 inches.

"A former all-district tight end, Egbule recorded 69 tackles, 5 1/2 for losses, two sacks, two interceptions, four fumble recoveries, five pass breakups and two forced fumbles during his final season for the Coogs," writes Wilson. "As a junior, Egbule finished with 62 tackles, 6 1/2 for loss, two sacks and six pass breakups."

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, who compares Egbule to Tyus Bowser, wrote the following about Egbule within his scouting report:

"Explosive outside linebacker prospect with exciting upside who is loose and twitchy but lacking in skill and consistent aggression. Egbule's juice up the rush arc should excite GMs and defensive coordinators even if the rush skill hasn't been honed. His fluidity to drop in coverage and harass passing lanes is equally enticing. He's a Day 3 developmental prospect offering scheme diverse traits and talents, but he has to prove he can adapt to the physical nature of the sport as a tackler and at the point of attack."
