Denver Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby will be joining the Houston Texans on a one-year deal worth $10 million. He turned down a three-year offer from the Pittsburgh Steelers and one-year deal from the San Francisco 49ers to do so, according to Mike Klis of 9News in the Denver area.

The Cleveland Browns were reportedly in the mix, as well.

"It's a prove it deal," Roby told Klis. "I feel like I should go back in (the market) while I'm still young."

The Broncos made Roby, who played college football at Ohio State, the No. 31 overall selection in 2014. He registered 50 combined tackles, 12 passes defensed, an interception, and two forced fumbles through 15 starts with the Broncos in 2018. Roby has recorded 236 combined tackles, three sacks, 60 passes defensed, seven interceptions, two touchdowns, and seven forced fumbles through his five NFL seasons, all of which were spent in Denver.

Roby, who will turn 27 in May, found himself mostly playing at nickel cornerback on the Broncos defense. He has playoff experience and was part of Denver's Super Bowl 50 championship team.

James Palmer of NFL Network was the first to report the 49ers' interest in Roby.

By Don Atkinson
May 13
