Any hope of a reunion between the San Francisco 49ers and running back Frank Gore is postponed for at least another year. The 14-year veteran will sign a one-year deal worth $2 million with the Buffalo Bills and continue to add to his Hall of Fame career.
Bills have agreed with Frank Gore on a 1 m-year, $2 million deal, per source.
Gore, 35, is a five-time Pro Bowl selection and spent his first 10 years with the 49ers, who made the running back a third-round selection out of Miami (FL) in 2005. He spent three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and then one with the Miami Dolphins after that.
Gore carried the football 156 times for 722 yards with no rushing touchdowns while adding 12 receptions for 124 yards with a receiving touchdown through 14 starts with the Dolphins in 2018. He has 14,748 rushing yards on 3,382 attempts with 77 touchdowns through his 14 NFL seasons.
Gore ranks fourth all-time in NFL rushing yards and is 521 yards away from matching Barry Sanders' mark of 15,269 career rushing yards. He remains a fan-favorite among the Niner Faithful.
Gore is the 49ers' franchise rushing leader with 11,073 yards. No San Francisco running back has had more 1,000-yard rushing seasons than his eight. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards nine times in 14 NFL seasons. The last time he accomplished the feat was in 2016 while with the Colts.
