Free agency is set to kick off at the start of the new league year on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Pacific. NFL teams, however, can begin negotiations with the representatives of impending free agents on Monday at 9 a.m. Pacific.
The San Francisco 49ers head into free agency ranked sixth in salary cap space with $65.941 million available, according to the league's internal report. The team with the most cap space is the Indianapolis Colts with $101.523 million.

It is unknown how active the 49ers will be during the first wave of free agency, but the team is expected to pursue at least one high-profile name, safety Earl Thomas.
San Francisco has also reportedly expressed interest in Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Kwon Alexander.
