The San Francisco 49ers had to watch the Los Angeles Rams, who were extremely aggressive in free agency and active in the trade market last offseason, earn a trip to the Super Bowl in Sean McVay's second season as a head coach. After watching the division rival's short turnaround, the Niner Faithful is likely hoping to see a little more offseason aggression out of its favorite team.
With that, the infatuation with a potential Brown-to-49ers scenario continues.
Last week, Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice made headlines when he confirmed that
Antonio Brown has a strong desire to play for the 49ers after conversations with the Pittsburgh Steelers wideout. Brown, who has distanced himself from his current team, has made his desire to play for Kyle Shanahan and company apparent with
his activity on social media.
Rice once again joined 95.7 The Game on Monday, a week after his headline-grabbing conversation. This time, he was asked about the 49ers' interest in Brown.
"I'm not John Lynch. I'm not Kyle Shanahan," Rice said on the "Joe, Lo, and Dibs" show. "But I think if you've got a player out there that can just really help your team out and take it to a whole different level, why not go after this guy?
"Yes, it's probably going to cost you a lot. You're going to have to maybe relinquish that -- I think they have the number two (overall pick) or something like that.
"I don't know how they're going to be able to make this situation happen but when you've got a player -- now, this guy is only about 30; he's just coming into this prime. He's got maybe five or more good years in him, and he can take this offense to a whole different level along with [quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo] and (tight end)
George Kittle."

Baldy: New 49ers DE Leonard Floyd an 'upgrade on every level'
The San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms with two defensive ends over the past 24 hours. They inked Leonard Floyd to a two-year, $20 million deal and Yetur Gross-Matos to a two-year, $18 million deal. Floyd stands out as the marquee signing, and NFL analyst Brian Baldinger views his arrival as a substantial improvement over the previous options opposite Nick Bosa.
Speaking on Bay Area radio station 95.7 The Game on Tuesday morning, Baldinger shared his insights, stating, "It's a big upgrade over [DE] Clelin Ferrell and [DE] Chase Young. You know, it's been a while since they've had a guy that could win
49ers' Ji'Ayir Brown is a Cybertruck fan but was advised against buying dream vehicle
San Francisco 49ers safety Ji'Ayir Brown recently visited a New Jersey electric vehicle dealership, intending to purchase a Tesla Cybertruck. However, his trusted financial adviser dissuaded him from proceeding with the purchase.
Brown, entering his second NFL season after making it to the Super Bowl as a rookie last season, was keen on buying a Cybertruck priced around $200,000, a significant markup over the vehicle's selling price. He even test-drove the truck and praised its ride and features.
Negotiations began with the price initially set at $230,000 and later slightly reduced to $210,000. That prompted Brown to consult with his financial adviser.
After a quick phone call, Brown told the seller, "It's not in the cards right
Chargers are open to trading Joey Bosa, but can the 49ers afford two Bosas?
Could the San Francisco 49ers end up with two Bosas on defense? According to Dianna Russini, Senior NFL Insider for The Athletic, "The Chargers are open to trade offers for many veteran players including Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack, per sources. There are teams interested but many around the league are willing to wait to see if the Chargers cut them soon." That sounds like, at minimum, an open door.
Nick Bosa will be entering his sixth NFL season in 2024. In his NFL career, he's been named AP Defensive Rookie of the Year (2019), AP Defensive Player of the Year (2022), is a four-time Pro Bowler and has also been named All-Pro. But the 49ers have struggled to find someone on the opposite side of Bosa who can consistently get after the quarterback.

Charvarius Ward willing to help 49ers land Tre'Davious White
The San Francisco 49ers likely aren't finished fortifying their defense and have reportedly expressed interest in bolstering their defensive backfield. If they require assistance making a significant move, one 49ers player is prepared to lend a helping hand.
Last week, the Buffalo Bills released All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White, who appears to be an ideal fit for San Francisco's needs opposite Charvarius Ward. Over the weekend, Ward took to social media to reveal that he and White share the same agent and that he is willing to nudge the free-agent defensive back in the right direction.
Ward described White as a "hand in glove
