Both the San Francisco 49ers (2-8) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-7) are coming off of losses and will try to get back to winning when the two teams meet at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday.
The visiting 49ers are coming off their bye and lost 27-23 to the New York Giants on Monday, November 12. The Giants went on to beat the Buccaneers 38-35 on Sunday increasing their win streak to two games after dropping the previous five.
Nick Mullens will start at quarterback for the 49ers while Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter named Jameis Winston the starter on Monday.
Winston replaced an ineffective Ryan Fitzpatrick against the Giants and completed 12-of-16 pass attempts for 199 yards with two touchdown passes and an interception. He also had a fumble recovered in the end zone by teammate Mike Evans for another touchdown.
Mullens is 1-1 since becoming the 49ers' starting quarterback and has completed 43-or-61 pass attempts for 512 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions this season.
The Buccaneers are currently listed anywhere from 3- to 3.5-point favorites over the visiting 49ers, according to various casinos and betting sites.
The spread consensus currently has the Buccaneers as 3.5-point favorites. Those numbers could change as the game draws near. The over/under for Sunday's game is listed at 55 points.
San Francisco has won two of the last three matchups against Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers, however, won the last meeting 34-17 on October 23, 2016, at Levi's Stadium.
The 49ers and Buccaneers kick off at 10:00 a.m. PT (1:00 p.m. ET) on Sunday.
