Injured San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, remains popular when it comes to player-branded merchandise, according to the second-quarter sales rankings for all licensed products.

Adam Schefter of ESPN tweeted out the following list of the top 10 players in terms of sales, as reported by the NFLPA. Garoppolo, who is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL during a Week 3 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs, ranks at No. 7 and is the fifth-highest ranked quarterback on the list.

Of course, the majority of those sales likely occurred before the injury. While the third-quarter report may not have Garoppolo on it, the latest figures are a good indication of what fan expectations were for the 49ers quarterback.

Garoppolo completed 53-of-89 pass attempts for 718 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions before his injury. He underwent knee surgery on October 3 to repair the ACL tear. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has expressed hope that Garoppolo can begin throwing by OTA's next June.

"I know you guys will probably hold me to it, but I'm hoping that he will be able to get into OTAs and do some non-contact stuff with throwing the ball and everything," Shanahan told reporters the Friday after the surgery.

Schefter said earlier this month that Garoppolo is expected to be ready for training camp next year.

49ers-Texans player-for-player trade fell apart on Tuesday

By David Bonilla
Mar 13

Defensive tackle Arik Armstead is now a free agent after the San Francisco 49ers released him on Wednesday. However, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports that he was almost headed to the Houston Texans. A source told Barrows that on Tuesday, the 49ers had a deal in place to trade Armstead for Texans defensive tackle Maliek Collins. However, the deal fell apart when the Texans agreed to terms with edge rusher Danielle Hunter. Despite the failed trade, the 49ers ended up acquiring Collins in exchange for a seventh-round pick, the No. 232 overall selection in next month's draft. Collins is the second defensive tackle San Francisco has added this week, with the

Mia O'Brien, a reporter for Jacksonville radio station 1010XL, was the first to link San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. A new report from O'Brien sheds light on the asking price for the star wide receiver, who is entering his fifth-year option. According to O'Brien, the 49ers sought the No. 17 overall pick, plus wide receiver Zay Jones, in exchange for Aiyuk. However, it seems this asking price was deemed too high for the Jaguars, who would have had to part ways with these assets and commit significant money to Aiyuk in the form of a contract

Updated list of 49ers draft picks in 2024 after NFL penalty

By David Bonilla

The NFL has penalized the San Francisco 49ers for payroll accounting errors that occurred at the end of the 2022 league year. This has led to the team forfeiting their fifth-round draft pick in 2025 and a reduction in their fourth-round pick in the upcoming draft. San Francisco's fourth-round selection, initially No. 131 overall, now shifts down four spots to the end of the round at No. 135, following the compensatory picks from that round. Despite this setback, the 49ers still possess 10 selections in the 2024 NFL Draft but will be short a pick next year. The team's selections in the upcoming draft are as follows: Round 1, Pick 31 Overall Round
