Aubrayo Franklin out for four weeks

According to Matt Maiocco of the Press Democrat, nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin will be out for four weeks with a right calf injury.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports that Isaac Sopoaga will take his place in the lineup with Ron Fields also filling in. While Atiyyah Ellison, who was inactive the first nine weeks, will get a long look in practice, Ray McDonald will probably be active on Sunday against the Rams.

Jaquiski Tartt expected to miss a few weeks, plus other 49ers injury updates from Kyle Shanahan

Kyle Shanahan provided several injury updates the day after the San Francisco 49ers lost 30-18 to the Indianapolis Colts. The good news is that cornerback Emmanuel Moseley (back) arrived at the team facility today feeling good and doing well. Shanahan said the 49ers will be without safety Jaquiski for a few weeks. He sustained a bone bruise in his knee. That explains why San Francisco signed safety Tony Jefferson to the practice squad today. Defensive end Dee Ford and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair are both in the concussion protocol. Quarterback Trey Lance is expected to return to practice on Wednesday. However, he will likely be limited.

The San Francisco 49ers' 2021 campaign is spiraling out of control. As a result, there is a lot of blame to spread around. While quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is receiving his fair share of it, so is head coach Kyle Shanahan. As the leader of the football team, he is responsible for preparing his players for game days, and the players have looked anything but prepared during this four-game losing streak. After the game, Shanahan did his best to hide his frustration resulting from his squad's latest defeat, a 30-18 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. There will be a lot to assess tomorrow morning. What the heck have the 49ers done with Brandon Aiyuk? That has been the primary question for this 2-3 San Francisco team since Week 1, when the promising receiver, who had an impressive rookie season, was out-snapped by free-agent addition Trent Sherfield 27-26. Drafted 25th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, Aiyuk burst into the spotlight last season, especially late in the year, catching 60 passes for 748 yards overall.
