A rookie is chosen by team veterans at the start of each San Francisco 49ers training camp practice to fire up the crowd. Tackle Mike McGlinchey was the first to do so on Friday, July 27. He did a pretty good job, too.
A week later, McGlinchey tried again but didn't receive the same reaction. That's because Friday's session isn't open to fans. He still gets credit for the effort.
The 49ers' next practice which is open to the public will be on Monday, August 6.
