Richard Sherman got his first opportunity to practice with his new San Francisco 49ers teammates during last week's minicamp. While he has not been medically cleared to be a full participant in practices, he was able to take part in individual drills. It was a step forward toward Sherman's expectations of being fully cleared to practice for training camp.
Sherman is recovering from a ruptured Achilles suffered during a November matchup against the Arizona Cardinals while the three-time first-team All-Pro cornerback was a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
On Thursday, the 49ers released a video of Sherman mic'd up during the first of the team's two minicamp practices last week. In the video, you can see Sherman interacting with teammates, offering tips to the defensive backs, going through individual drills, commenting on quarterback C.J. Beathard's beard, and even kicker Robbie Gould (jokingly) acting as Sherman's personal waterboy.
