Former San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde ran an official 4.66-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in 2014. Of course, as seen in the video below, he pulled his left hamstring in the process. Hyde will not be back with the 49ers in 2018 as he reportedly intends to sign a three-year deal worth $15 million with the Cleveland Browns.

The 49ers have reportedly agreed to a four-year deal worth $30 million with versatile Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon. He will be able to sign with the team after 1 p.m. on Wednesday officially. He ran a 4.41-second 40-yard dash at the same combine as Hyde, which was second among running backs that year.

Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group points out that the 49ers running backs, including McKinnon, have at least one thing in common – speed. Each of them is fast, and McKinnon isn't even the fastest among the group.

Below is each 49ers running back's recorded pre-draft 40-time.

Year 40-time
Raheem Mostert 2015 4.32
Matt Breida 2017 4.37
Jerick McKinnon 2014 4.41
Joe Williams 2017 4.41
Jeremy McNichols 2017 4.49

Joe Williams' 40-time was second among running backs at the combine in 2017 with Jeremy McNichols tying for seventh with Dalvin Cook, who was drafted by McKinnon's former team – Minnesota.

Rapoport: 49ers send clear message to teams inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla
Apr 16

Ian Rapoport didn't offer much of an update on the ongoing contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and their standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk. However, the NFL insider emphasized one thing: The team is not entertaining trade discussions at this juncture. Reacting to Aiyuk's decision to unfollow the 49ers on Instagram, Rapoport couldn't help but chuckle at the latest development. This practice has become commonplace among players who are unhappy with their contract situations. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel similarly took this action in 2022 before requesting to be traded just before the draft. Things have yet to escalate that far with Aiyuk, but Rapoport sees his
