49ers will host Pittsburg State DB Deron Washington
The San Francisco 49ers will host a defensive back from a small school in Kansas on Tuesday. Deron Washington, who played college football for the Pittsburg State Gorillas, will work out for the team, according to Damon Talbot of
NFL Draft Diamonds.
Tuesday is a day off for 49ers players, whose next practice is scheduled for Wednesday at 1:25 p.m. PT.
Washington (6-1, 211) played safety at Pittsburg State and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Falcons following the 2017 NFL Draft. He was waived by Atlanta on August 30.
During his senior season with the Gorillas, Washington had 60 tackles, two for a loss, two interceptions, four passes defensed, and two forced fumbles.

With the 2024 NFL Draft just two weeks away, the San Francisco 49ers are intensifying their evaluations. The team has scheduled visits with two defensive draft prospects in Santa Clara. According to reports from MLFootball on social media, the team will host former Kentucky cornerback Andru Phillips, while Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network reports that former Florida Atlantic defensive lineman Evan Anderson will also be visiting.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the San Francisco 49ers are among several teams that have shown interest in former North Carolina State defensive lineman Savion Jackson.
