We're just four days away from finding out what the San Francisco 49ers do with their collection of 2021 NFL Draft picks. If past history is any indication, the 49ers will make some moves along the way that result in some shuffling of their current list of nine picks, but right now the 49ers own one pick in each of the first four rounds, three in Round 5, and one in both Round 6 and Round 7. With the clock winding down before the draft gets underway Thursday night (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT), let's take a look back at what's happened over the past ten years at each of the draft slots the 49ers currently own. The 2021 NFL Draft is tomorrow night, and we still don't know who the San Francisco 49ers plan to select at No. 3 overall. There are ideas. Lots of them. Everyone has an opinion, stitched together from a hodge-podge of information and potential clues -- which may or may not be actual clues. The 49ers are playing it close to the vest. What we do know is that the selection will most likely be a quarterback. The betting favorites are Mac Jones of Alabama, Trey Lance of North Dakota State, and Justin Fields of Ohio State, in that order. The decision is expected to be head coach Kyle Shanahan's. Jimmy Garoppolo's days with the San Francisco 49ers may be numbered. He will likely remain with the team through the 2021 season. However, after drafting Trey Lance of North Dakota State with the No. 3 overall pick, it is clear that a change is on the horizon for the Niners. While most felt that might create an awkward situation in the quarterback room, Garoppolo has made the best of it. In fact, Garoppolo was the first 49ers player who reached out to Lance after the incoming rookie heard his name called in Cleveland, Ohio.
