The San Francisco 49ers have announced that they have released TE Bruce Miller following his arrest for assault at a Fisherman's Wharf hotel in San Francisco yesterday.

Miller reportedly tried to check into the Marriott Hotel but was told there were no rooms available. He later returned and reportedly assaulted a guest and his father after the guest answered the door to his hotel room and told the 49ers tight end that he had the wrong room.

After Miller fled the scene, the guest and his father were transported to the hospital due to the injuries that they had sustained.

The charges against Miller, whom police say was intoxicated, include aggravated assault, elder abuse, threats, and battery, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.

Earlier today, the 49ers released a brief statement on the arrest. "The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the media report regarding Bruce Miller," said the 49ers. "We are gathering the relevant facts of this matter and will continue to monitor the situation."
