Today, the San Francisco 49ers (1-2) will host the Green Bay Packers (3-0) at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The Packers are coming off of a 38-28 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 49ers are coming off of a 47-7 defeat against the Arizona Cardinals.

The 49ers are looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses in which the team has been outscored a combined 90-25. In fact, the 49ers have been outscored 60-10 in the first half alone over the past two weeks.

The last time the 49ers faced a potential future Hall of Fame quarterback - Ben Roethlisberger - he completed 21 of 27 passes for 369 yards, three touchdowns and a passer rating of 155.8. Now the defense has the tough task of stopping another in the Packers' Aaron Rodgers. Through three games, Rodgers has completed 73.6% of his passes for 771 yards, 10 touchdowns, no interceptions and a passer rating of 135.4. Opposing defenses have only gotten to him three times.

For the 49ers, QB Colin Kaepernick has thrown four interceptions and been sacked eight times behind a shaky offensive line. His 16.7 passer rating against the Cardinals was the lowest of his NFL career. According to Pro Fooball Focus, Kaepernick has been pressured on 43.2% of his drop backs, which is the highest percentage in the league. The three worst rated players on offense are along the offensive line. More specifically, along the right side in C Marcus Martin, RT Erik Pears, and RG Jordan Devey.

Despite the team's flaws, head coach Jim Tomsula stated this week that there were no plans to shake the roster up.

On the bright side, Kaepernick has played very well against the Packers in the past. He has never lost to them during the regular season or the playoffs and has a passer rating of 101.3 against Green Bay. In his three starts against the Packers, Kaepernick has completed 60% of his passes for 902 passing yards, six touchdowns, two interceptions, 301 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns.

TE Vernon Davis (knee) missed team practices on Wednesday and Thursday and only warmed up on Friday before heading back into the weight room. It is unlikely he will play. On the other hand, RB Reggie Bush (calf) has practiced all week and looks to return for the first time since his week 1 injury against the Minnesota Vikings.
