The San Francisco 49ers announced they have re-signed tight end Ross Dwelley to a one-year deal. He was an unrestricted free agent. The team also officially announced the signing of free agent safety Myles Hartsfield to a one-year deal, news that was first reported on Saturday.

San Francisco signed Dwelley (6-5, 235) as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego in 2018. He registered three receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown through 12 game appearances with the 49ers last season, per Pro Football Reference.


Dwelley, 28, has caught 43 passes for 506 yards and five touchdowns in 72 game appearances (17 starts) through his five NFL seasons. He has only caught seven passes in the last two seasons despite being active for 29 games and playing 296 snaps. Although, he did haul in two touchdowns receptions during that time.

The Carolina Panthers signed Hartsfield (5-11, 210) as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss in 2020. He registered 59 tackles, two tackles for a loss, a quarterback hit, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble through 15 game appearances (10 starts) with the Panthers last season, per Pro Football Reference.

Hartsfield, 25, has recorded 118 tackles, five tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, a sack, seven passes defensed, and a forced fumble in 41 game appearances (19 starts) through his three NFL seasons.
