Defensive linemen Arik Armstead and Javon Kinlaw were among several 49ers players who did not practice on Thursday. Friday was no different. Armstead continues to work his way back from plantar fasciitis in his right foot, while Kinlaw is dealing with knee issues.
Armstead was seen working on a side field with the training staff, as was the case on Thursday. During his Friday-morning KNBR interview, general manager John Lynch was asked if Armstead's injury might be a season-long concern.
"I know that those things can nag," Lynch responded. "I've played with some guys that the best thing that's happened is that plantar fasciitis—I don't even know what it is, it's a ligament, it's a muscle—that it just tears because then it's gone. You're out for like seven, ten days, and then you go play.
"But it is just kind of a nagging thing that it's fired up right now. It's hard to avoid. But Arik is working. Our trainers are doing a nice job, trying to just quiet it down so that he can go play, and play effectively."
Rookie wide receiver Danny Gray missed his second practice of the week due to a hip injury.
Below are Friday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
