The injury came Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season in a matchup against the New York Jets. Bosa told NFL Network that he immediately knew he'd suffered a serious injury after the tear happened, "I knew for sure. I think you want to fake your mind into thinking that you're okay and try and take those steps but I knew exactly what happened and that it was going to be a long road."
An important part of the recovery process, Bosa and GM John Lynch agree, was the dietary restrictions placed on him throughout the year. "[The diet] is definitely helping. I just wanted to take one facet of what I do to the next level and I got an amazing chef," Bosa continued. "My Dexa scan this year was the lowest body fat on the team. When you have DBs [defensive backs] and running backs on the team, it's pretty good to be competing with them with body fat. I don't know if any of that stuff helps the product on the field, but it definitely allows me to perform."
After a year of a successful play, though, it seems like Nick Bosa is on top of his game, even more-so than prior to the injury. He also agrees that he's improving every single week, "[I'm] hanging in. I'm actually coming around really well. I think I'm progressing as the season goes."
Next up for the 49ers and their young star DE is the Dallas Cowboys. Against very talented Cowboys offensive personnel, Bosa thinks the keys to the game will be to "stop the run" and "get after the passer".
It's a similar philosophy every week for Bosa, but it remains to be seen if it will work against Dallas.
