Jimmy Garoppolo was a full participant in practice after his injured ankle hindered him during Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, leading to the quarterback being benched at halftime. Head coach Kyle Shanahan remains hopeful that Garoppolo can start this weekend and be more effective against the Rams defense.
"If he has a good week of practice, and it looks like he gives us the best chance to win, then I won't hesitate," Shanahan said before practice. "If it looks like it hurts in the game, and it's prohibiting him, then we'll do what we did again."
Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley is working his way back from the concussion protocol and practiced in a blue no-contact jersey. That is good news for the 49ers' injury-depleted secondary that saw Brian Allen go from the practice squad on Saturday to a starter on Sunday. The good news is that Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) did not appear on Wednesday's report, which would indicate that he is fine.
Linebacker Kwon Alexander could be sidelined for a while with a high-ankle sprain. He obviously did not practice.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
