Some rumored-to-be-dealt players breathe a sigh of relief when the NFL trade deadline passes. The 49ers wide receiver might have offered a sigh of resignation at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Despite plenty of pre-deadline speculation, the 49ers didn't trade Smith, meaning he'll remain with the team that's had a 6-18 record and consistent quarterback issues since he signed a five-year, $40 million contract last year. In his first four seasons in Baltimore, Smith never had fewer than 49 catches or 767 yards and the Ravens went 42-22 and won a Super Bowl. Smith has 46 catches for 864 yards in 23 games with the 49ers, who are on a six-game losing streak.
