QB Colin Kaepernick gets rest day as #49ers go through a light 90-minute practice before going at it hard Friday in practice with Texans.

The team called it a "planned day of rest" for the quarterback. Kaepernick spent the day mirroring the quarterbacks behind the line of scrimmage, much as he did prior to June's minicamp during the team's offseason program.
The 49ers have not yet named a starter for Sunday's exhibition opener against the Houston Texans. They are expected to make a decision following the team's joint-practice with the Texans on Friday.
Kaepernick is one of the players that is scheduled to meet with the media following Friday's practice.
