Per multiple media sources, the San Francisco 49ers have promoted two cornerbacks from the practice squad to the active roster – CB Marcus Cromartie and CB Chris Davis.
To make room for them, the 49ers have placed RB Mike Davis on the IR/Designated for Return List and S L.J. McCray on the IR list. Davis had surgery on his fractured hand on Tuesday while McCray had surgery on his knee.
Cromartie played three games for the 49ers last season. Chris Davis, who played in twelve games for the San Diego Chargers last season, was signed this week.
CB Tramaine Brock (shin), CB Kenneth Acker (concussion), and CB Keith Reaser (ankle) are all listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
